Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) staff and the Parent and Community Involvement Task Force are helping families start the new school year strong by offering a new installment of Parent University: The Science of Reading, State Assessments and Mental Health.
The new webinar, which begins at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 18, for elementary grades and Thursday, September 28, for secondary grades, will provide hands-on strategies and resources that are scientifically proven to help enhance reading skills, information about the Florida Assessment For Student Thinking (FAST) and discuss the free mental health services available through BCPS – including school counseling; life skills and wellness; college, career and life readiness; the Help is Here initiative, social workers and much more.
Questions will be addressed throughout the presentation, and closed captioning will be available in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian-Creole, Arabic, Chinese and Vietnamese.
